How syncing works
- Your bank tells Plaid, Plaid tells RevvFi, and new transactions arrive within moments of the bank posting them. A backstop job also checks every two hours and re-syncs any bank that has gone more than 12 hours without an update.
- The Sync button on Transactions and pull-to-refresh fetch anything new right away. Opening the app does the same if an update is waiting.
- Pending transactions are imported as pending and updated in place when they post, so the category, notes and receipt you added survive even if the final amount changes.
"{Bank} needs to be reconnected"
Banks periodically require you to sign in again, and some revoke access when you change a password. When that happens RevvFi sends a push (Reconnect {bank}) and shows a banner under Settings → Linked accounts with a Reconnect button. Tap it (if you use 2-step verification, enter your code first) and sign in at the bank again. Temporary bank outages do not trigger this; only a real re-authorization does.
A related banner, New accounts available at {bank}, appears when you open a new account at a bank you already linked. Add lets you pick and tag it.
Refresh all transactions
Settings → Linked accounts → Refresh all transactions re-pulls the full history from every bank. Your existing categorizations are kept, and it cannot extend the history window set when the bank was first linked. There is no limit on how often you can run it; RevvFi just runs one sync at a time.
Unlink a bank or remove an account
Under Settings → Linked accounts → Manage linked accounts, each bank has Unlink bank and each account has a remove option. Both ask the same question:
- Unlink, keep transactions (the default): the connection is revoked at Plaid, and your history stays in RevvFi.
- Unlink & delete transactions: also removes every transaction from that bank. RevvFi asks a second time because this cannot be undone.
If you later reconnect the same bank, transactions you kept are matched rather than duplicated.
If your subscription lapses
Bank connections are removed on the day the account goes read-only. Resubscribe and you can reconnect; your history is still there. See Cancel your subscription.
